Project
The Statoil Refining Denmark A/S oil refinery is located in Kalundborg, Denmark. The plant uses steam at 250 ºC to process crude oil into HEMI oil. The same steam heats the transport pipelines to prevent the oil from cooling down too much.
The steam installation was due for renewal. In 2017, a new installation was commissioned, featuring two flue gas condensers for a boiler capacity of nearly 12 MW each.
The flue gas condensers extract residual heat from the flue gases. This is used to preheat cold water before it enters the boiler, resulting in extra efficiency. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Danish installer Jan Hansen from V. Hansen Ap.
