Zantingh - specialist in heating technology since 1970

Zantingh is a family business that has been working on heating spaces and processes since 1935. First with coal, later with oil and gas. What began as a local installation company grew into a specialist in burner technology and energy systems for horticulture, industry, and utilities. Today, that experience is still embedded in how we design, build, maintain, and advise on installations that must run reliably, day and night.

We do not provide standard work, but systems that suit the customer's situation, process, and energy consumption. From gas burners and flue gas condensers to CO₂ dosing and heat recovery: we tailor every installation to practical requirements. In doing so, we look beyond just technology. We advise on efficiency, safety, energy use, and the next step for the installation.

Our way of working is down-to-earth and direct. Short lines of communication, clear agreements, and taking responsibility when necessary. We work closely with customers, installers, and consultants, and remain involved after delivery with maintenance, parts service, and 24/7 breakdown assistance. This is how we build installations and partnerships that continue to work in the long term.

90 years of energetic progress

Zantingh has a rich history dating back to 1935. What began as a local installation company grew into a leading partner in burner technology and heating technology. Over the years, we have developed new techniques without losing sight of our core values. Below you will find five key moments that mark the development of our family business.

1935

The year of our foundation. At that time, Zantingh was primarily active as an installer of greenhouse heating, with coal still being the main fuel. The foundation marked the first step in the creation of a family business that would hold craftsmanship and reliability in high regard.

1950

Around this time, coal firing increasingly gave way to fuel oil, and Zantingh took the step toward importing oil burners from Germany and Denmark. This was an important move through which the company responded to more modern and efficient energy supplies.

1970

This period was characterized by the unstoppable rise of natural gas and the development of our own brand of gas burners, marking a major growth period for the company and further strengthening Zantingh's position in the Dutch greenhouse horticulture sector. The 24/7 service department for commissioning and aftercare of gas burners also has its origins in this period, and the Zantingh wholesale business in central heating materials continued to develop. After two energy crises (resulting in expensive natural gas), 'energy efficiency' became the motto, and heat recovery from flue gases using the Zantingh flue gas condenser became popular.

1980 - 1990

In the mid-1980s, Zantingh introduced combined heat and power (CHP), the decentralized generation of electricity with the useful application of residual heat from this process, which saved a lot of energy and simultaneously achieved CO2 reduction. During these years, significant attention was also paid to the speed control of electric motors for burner fans and circulation pumps, for example, using frequency control, resulting in electrical energy savings.

Electronics were also introduced in burner control (first Autoflame, now Siemens), resulting in an increase in both the operational reliability and energy efficiency of gas burners. During that time, nitrogen reduction was already a topic, and Zantingh developed technology to minimize the NOx emissions of gas burners.

1998 - present

After Zantingh's CHP activities were transferred to other parties, we focused on providing the products and services that still constitute our core activities today. Internationalization continued, so that currently almost 80% of our sales go abroad, and we have our own service branches in France and Mexico, as well as agents in Scandinavia, Canada, and Eurasia, among others.

In the Netherlands, the service department was SCIOS-certified for maintenance work, safety inspections, and emission measurements, and new technologies were developed, for example, for the use of sustainable gases such as biogas and hydrogen.

Customized Solutions

No two installations are the same. That is why we do not provide standard work, but installations that suit your situation, process, and consumption. From gas burners to CO₂ dosing and from boiler houses to flue gas condensers: we tailor everything to practice, with an eye for detail and the next step in technology and energy use.

That customization starts with collaboration. We work closely with installers, consultants, and end users. Through short lines of communication, clear agreements, and a down-to-earth approach, we act quickly and respond directly to changes. This ensures that not only the installation but also the surrounding process runs smoothly.

We also remain involved after delivery. With tailored maintenance, parts service, and 24/7 breakdown assistance, we ensure that installations continue to perform as they should. We actively advise on efficiency, performance, and energy savings. In this way, customization goes beyond technology alone.
