Project
In collaboration with Eneco heat production Utrecht, we supplied four Low NOx natural gas burners for the auxiliary heating plant on Nicolaas Beetsstraat, near the city center of Utrecht.
Eneco aims to realize “Sustainable energy for everyone.” This means not only making the energy transition possible but also accelerating it. This is achieved, among other things, by designing and implementing smart energy systems together with suppliers.
Completely replacing an existing boiler is not always attractive. Many natural gas-fired boilers are still in good technical condition but do not meet the NOx requirement of less than 70 mg/nm³ at 3% O₂.
The principle in our gas burner head creates a stable, relatively cold flame. This limits NOx emissions. A portion of the flue gases is internally recirculated, allowing the installation to operate with a lower air excess than systems with external flue gas recirculation.
No carbon monoxide is produced, and therefore no soot. This results in higher efficiency and prevents fouling. Because the system could be applied to the existing boilers, no investment in new boilers was necessary. NOx emissions have been reduced by nearly a third.
